2012 Olympic Sites walking tour

I'll be talking about the development of the Olympic sites, the background to the area (impoverished and industrial
east end of London), the history of the Olympics - ancient and
modern - and the legacy. What are we going to be left with at the end?

Join me and find out.

11 a.m. Bromley-by-Bow Station Monday 31 May 2010
£8 per adult, £5 for concessions.

Reservations at: http://www.olympictourguides2012.com/

It's not strictly necessary to book, you can just turn up. But it helps with numbers. If the group gets too large, we call in another guide.

2 WALKS ON THE SAME DAY!

THE ESSENTIAL LONDON WALK

Wednesday, 2nd June 2010. Meet me at 10 am at Piccadilly Circus.

I'll be carrying a bright blue umbrella! £5. No need to book. Just turn up!

We'll be seeing - and getting the lowdown on Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, St James's Park, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street and lots more.

If you're a visitor to London, or one of many thousands of Londoners who've lived here for ages - or even ever - but have never really done 'the sights', this one's for you. Or if you know anyone who might be interested, please pass this on to them.

and on the same day.....

THE EAST END WALK - ENTER ANOTHER WORLD.

2.30pm.  Whitechapel Tube Station. Katreya Somerville.  Cost £8.00

Stepping outside the smart, glittering City of London can be a shocking experience. London's East End story is of immigrants, gangsters, stark poverty and degradation. But we also find hope, renewal and success.

Here is where we feel most alive - bustling markets, Jewish London, Georgian London, gangsters, curry houses ¬- with the Elephant Man, Big Ben, and Jack the Ripper thrown in the pot.

By all means drop me an email to let me know you're coming.  But if you prefer, just turn up on the day!
